Hello,

We ended the year with the graduation of our 8th graders. We were honored by the presence of councilman Patrick O Council.

Students participating in the Discovery Summer program will start on Monday July 6th at 8:00 am. All the other students will start the new school year on Tuesday September 8th at 8:15 am.

There will be a Zoom session to answer any last minute questions on Wednesday September 2nd at 6:00pm.

Summer work has been handed out and is posted on the assignment page.

Report cards and diagnostics have been handed out last Thursday. If your child was absent, please come by the office the week of July 6 to pick up your child's report card.

Summer Hours: Discovery will be open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am ton 12:00pm from July 6 until July 23.

IMPORTANT: re-enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year

Discovery sent you an email asking you to upload an updated proof of address to register returning students for September 2026. We are now processing all re-enrollments. Make sure we have one proof of address for your family so your child can keep their seat at Discovery.

You should also have received an email from Newark Enrolls as charter school parents have to also register with the Newark District in order to attend a charter school. Please complete this Newark Enrolls registration as soon as possible. You can find directions here or you may come to the school so we can help you.

Reminders: 

  • Students are marked late starting at 8:20 am. We open our doors at 7:30 am for students who need to come to school earlier. We dismiss our students between 3:45 and 4:00 pm.
  • Students need to wear tops with the school logo. You can purchase these at Land’sEnds. You can find more details about the dress code on our school uniform page..
  • Remember that you can access the 25-26 school calendar, and that you can access the Parent Portal on Realtime, or download the Realtime Parent Link app (Apple store or Google Play)
