State Assessments
March 2026
During the 2025-26 school year one set of state-mandated academic tests are required for all students.
English Language Learners are required to take the ACCESS assessment between February 2, 2026 and March 27, 2026.
Students taking the DLM assessment will complete it between April 6, 2025 and May 22, 2026.
Between April 27 and May 22, 2026, all students will take the NJSLA in ELA, Math, while 5th and 8th graders will also take the NJSLA science test. Students who are absent during the test-taking sessions will make-up their test units between May 26 and May 29, 2026. These are online assessments with a paper option for students whose IEP requires it. ELA reading assessments will take 150 minutes, ELA writing assessment 90 minutes, math assessments 150 minutes, while the science assessment requires 180 minutes. All students at Discovery will be required to take a field test in October and November 2025. This is to ensure that test questions are valid, reliable, and fair for all students. We will not receive any results. You can find more information here and on the NJDOE website.
