Moms & Daughter Jazz Night

All our girls are invited with their mothers (or an aunt, grandma,etc..) to attend our Mom & Daughter Jazz Night on Friday April 19 at 5:30 pm! See video invitation HERE.

 

 

This week we will work with all our 4th and 5th graders to get ready for the NJSLA tests that they will take after our April break. At Discovery, we have always stayed away from “teaching to the test.” We work on skills that are important in themselves: reading a passage closely and going back to the text in order to respond with evidence, deconstructing questions and writing prompts carefully to make sure we respond accurately to math and ELA questions, taking notes that are useful, and explaining our reasoning with clarity and precision. Please make sure your child comes on time every day!

On Thursday most of 6-8th graders will go either for their last Student 2 Science lab session or to The Pa’akai We Bring at NJPAC. We would love to have 3 or 4 parents coming along to chaperone with teachers.

Remember that Discovery will be closed for our April break from April 22 until April 26. We will resume on Monday April 29 at 8:15 am.

Please ask your child for their work completion card every day, and make sure your child comes to school upstairs at 8:15 am so they can meet with their homeroom teacher and complete their Daily.
